Awesome visuals!

That was an awesome kaleidoscope of visuals. It was almost hypnotizing with the music, and worked excellently. What software did you use to create this? SWIFT? MAX? Keep it up!

Derc-Tora responds:

"SWIFT? MAX?"
old V. of Swift 3D max and 3ds max 4.2

Great work!

That was an excellent collaboration guys! The juxtaposition of visual styles worked really well and definitely too the animation in a different direction. Both of you are extremely talented animators, and yet you both have distinct visual styles. This animation is definitely deserving of front page.

How long did this take you guys to draw and animate?

~ Chris

billyjr82 responds:

hehe, you said juxtaposition. Thanks man, we appreciate it.

Um, we had a whole quarter to do it (11 weeks) but we didn't use all that time. We're animation majors so we get lots of work. I would say, if we worked for about 2 weeks only on this we could have finished it. Actually, made it beter, but 3-D is very time cconsuming. Plus, this class was about audio, not animation, so.... yeah. Large nipples. ---> Ben

Took me by suprise!

That first grenade took me by surprise! I didn't expect it to explode. The soot effect after the explosion was cool. Good work!

Boojamon responds:

^-^

I like SUPRISES!!!!

Great storytelling a visual style!

You're animations are fantastic. You have such a great ability to tell stories with imagery. You're nighttime forest sequences are the best I have ever seen for anything Flash animated. You definitely use the Flash software to its full potential.

I don't know if I missed it or not, but I didn't notice a link in the end credits for the "scripted camera".

Keep doing what you do and I'll keep viewing.

On the Quality selection screen, there are two fuzzy white bugs. Mouse over the one on the right, and you'll get a link for the vCam. Good luck, and thanks for reviewing :)

Once the dog falls it's funny!

Even though this is your first animation, I believe it to be your best work. Nice cartoony feel with a great background mountain rage. The finale after the explosion is pretty funny. Great work!

Cheesius responds:

Thanks! Actually, this is a complete re-work of an early cartoon. The early version of it is much, much rougher. I spent a long time re-doing almost everything. And it's far from my first cartoon - which was a really badly done thing that starred a poorly animated and even more poorly voiced Strong Bad (from homestarrunner dot com). That cartoon will NEVER appear here on newgrounds - if I were to submit it, it would never pass the portal anyway. I'm glad you enjoyed this cartoon! And I'm still looking forward to your next cartoon.

The camera work is cool.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this. The staircase was cool, but wasn't my preferred style. I'd prefer something more cartoony, but the staircase looks good for the realism it seems you were going for. The weirdness of this animation is cool, and the camera motion is good. The little girl needed more blood flow. The cat is kinda funny. Overall, nice and odd, and a pretty good job.

Cheesius responds:

The whole scene, unfortunately, wound up not being cartoony enough for what I was doing it for, so I've put it in a pile to work on later. More blood? Yeah, probably true. I could have had splurts coming up out of her neck. I'll give that some thought next time I'm throwing in random violence. I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
