Not bad.

This was actually a decent stick type animation. My favorite part was when the character knocked on the box with his gun and then shot through it, hitting the guy in the head. You should have animated an entry wound in the last victim though. A lack of story, but a pretty good job, none-the-less.

Hilarious!

That was hilarious! I wasn't sure what to expect at first. I really thought it was going to be lame when I read that the animation was based on tourettes syndrome. The funniest part was when the burglar sings "balls" with his arms extended! Classic.

I was wrong, and this was great. 5 out of 5.

Good job.

It's good to see that you have stepped away from stickmen. Your motion was good, and the use of camera movement and the blurring effect was great. Keep it up and you could make a really good animation. Short, and to the point, but a good showcase of your progression.

Nice Idea.

Below are individual reviews of each contributor’s animation:

"THE BAD-WAVE" by DNR
The character design was well done, particularly the cigarette smoking guy. The smoke clouds were animated well. There was no real purpose to the animation (as I’m sure was DNR’s point). In its short length THE BAD-WAVE didn’t catch my interest. The "Satanic End" was a nice and unexpected added touch. I don't like Sca either.

"OTHER SIDE OF THE DRAIN" by Mynamewontfitin
An interesting character and concept with the topic you have been given. I like your use of surrealism. The flying fish were a nice touch. It would have been better if you added more to it, maybe by giving the scenes and backgrounds more detail.

"LIQUID POST APOCALYPSE" by Greedom"
Not sure what is meant by the subtitle "In a world without water men will act like fish." I am also unsure if Greedom wants us to know either. Unless fish drink antifreeze, drive go-carts and pick fights. Either way, with the oddness of this animation, that subtitle works, since the animation doesn't make sense. The character taking off his tie looked cool. I'm not sure if the music matched the theme of this animation though. It would have been enhanced with a grimmer or more surreal music sellection. Overall though, good result.

"5 SHADES OF BLUE" by ZekeySpacyLizard
The psychedelic color movement over the painter’s hair and beard was a nicely added touch. The water during the storm was awesome! You have achieved great water movements throughout this entire animation. Even though I don't like Coldplay, the song completely works with this animation. It was a good choice not to include the vocals. This is the best contribution to the group. Excellent work ZekeySpacyLizard!

"DEEP BLUE POOL" by Space Chicken
Can't really say I liked this one much. The main little character Howie looked simple but nice and cartoony. I realize that the purpose of him being at the theatre was to be afraid of sharks so the animation would be finalized by his teacher being eaten by the shark. This is just a prelude that doesn't pay off. While other viewers, I'm sure, might like this concept, it just doesn't work for me. I did like your characters paranoid breathing. I think these characters could have worked better with a different plot.

UNTITLED by Xionic_Demon

I dislike Nu-Metal music, so naturally I didn't enjoy your choice of Linkin Park. Nevertheless, I did not let this deter me from enjoying your animation. I viewed the animation a second time with the sound off, and I did like the visuals. Your characters are very simple, but look cool with a video game/anime type of feeling to them. The characters had cool hair shading as well. Good job, aside from the Nu-Metal.

"5 SHADES OF BLUE COLLAB" by DjAmin
I liked the editing techniques you used in this, but just when the viewer gets into it and the character stands, the animation just fades to and finale with no pay off. A good beginning, without a proper end.

Overall, I enjoyed certain animations more than others. Obviously this is meant to be the case with all viewers -- since more-than-likely everyone will not like them all -- and that is what makes this particular compilation work so well. The animations here won't be for everyone, but people will be able to find choices they particularly like that shine through. For all contributors, you followed your guidelines well, using 5 shades of blue and your water theme. Good job to all.

4 out of 5.

Good Animation.

Your character design and voice acting are always cool in your animations. A problem I have noticed however is you don't take the time to do the lip sync frame by frame for the female characters voice. It seems as if you play the voice movements on loop for the correct amount of frames that it takes to match the dialog, but yet, the tongue frame pops up during dialog where it doesn't fit. I definitely think you should take the time to do the lip sync frame by frame rather than on loop. It would make the female character’s (or any other character with lip movement) shortcomings disappear. I doubt you find this a problem, since you have so many animations that contain this lopping.

Just my observation. Otherwise top quality stuff!

Great storytelling a visual style!

You're animations are fantastic. You have such a great ability to tell stories with imagery. You're nighttime forest sequences are the best I have ever seen for anything Flash animated. You definitely use the Flash software to its full potential.

I don't know if I missed it or not, but I didn't notice a link in the end credits for the "scripted camera".

Keep doing what you do and I'll keep viewing.

On the Quality selection screen, there are two fuzzy white bugs. Mouse over the one on the right, and you'll get a link for the vCam. Good luck, and thanks for reviewing :)

Fantastic work!

I really liked you comedy, character design, and drawing style for this animation. You used a great choice of music and sound effects as well. Top quality work!

Wow!

This was a fantastic submission! The aniamtion went perfectly with the music. You created an excellent pattern scheme! This must have taken a long time to animate and set the timing. I wouldn't even know how to create something like this. Awesome work!

Nice Max Modeling, but the Animation is lacking.

Your robot has a nice visual style and seems to be modeled well. However, I can't say I like your animation. The fact that you modeled this in 3D Studio Max, and animated in with Flash is unusual to me. The animation is totally lacking. You should have modeled and animated it entirely with 3D Studio Max, and it would have been a lot better. You are limiting your creation using Flash for a CG 3D animation. Your walk cycle (which pretty much encompasses your entire animation) is completely lacking. If this is the main animated sequence you should have focused on perfecting it. When the Robot is walking, his feet slide, creating a moonwalk effect. Using reference dots, could have allowed you to figure out when to actually lift his feet and move him.

You have potential, but next time I would use Max for a 3D animation. I hope this has been a constructive review.

Great Monologue!

That was a great idea for an animation. This type of humor works because everyone can relate to it. I liked your cartoon style as well. Nice contribution!
